: The only time something has ever been thrown at Gilly (Adam Gilchrist, as if u didn't know!) on the cricket field was when a man threw a choc chip cookie at him in England, and he just laughed!
: Gilly always hits his leg pads when he comes out to bat, at first it was just a habit, and now it is also a superstition for him. awwww
: If Gilly he didn't become a World Cricketer (heaven forbid) he would probably be a teacher, as it runs in the family. Talk about student-teacher crushes! ( thanx to meg)
: Gilly has invented his own word, as his first time on his chat he called himself a "Nuffy" meaning - someone who is not good at something, in his case computers as he said he types very slow! awwww :)
: Gilly has the best diet of all the players in team, after tests and various programs, says the team's fitness co-odinator David Mission, also the fact that his wife Melinda (sob) is a dietarian contirbutes to his healthy eating.
: Gilly is the fittest member of the team after the team all did a 'Beep test', and Gilly survived for the longest at the highest level of 13.5 - aww :)  

Damien Martyn was born in Darwin and he and his family were amongst the unlucky people who lost everything they owned in Cyclone Tracey on Christmas Day.  He was 3 years old. (thanks Karen)

Brett Lee used to be petrified of the cricket ball. He used to walk out to bat in the backyard wearing 4 thigh pads strapped to his chest.

Brett Lee recently received an invitation to "Max's ninth birthday party"  He couldn't make it of course, but rang the birthday boy and wished him happy birthday.

 Brett receives about 100 fan letters a week - some send poetry and others send underwear

When Ricky Ponting was four, his grandmother gave him a t-shirt which has, "Inside this shirt is an Australian Test cricketer" written on it  ( Thanks Ash! )

Adam Gilchrist has a black dog named ROY (after the cricketer Roy Gilchrist)

  The first ever Test match was held between England and Australia, at Melbourne, from the March 15 to 19, 1877. Australia won by 45 runs. Exactly 100 years later (March 15 to 19, 1977) a match between England and Australia was held at Melbourne to commemorate the 100 years of Test cricket. Remarkably Australia won by 45 runs!!!   Brett Lee after playing his first test said he was so excited that he didn't wanna take off his baggygreen- he even wanted to sleep with it on (how sweet) 

Once Fleming played the worst batting shot vs India in 1997. He virtually did the splits. All the guys thought he would be upset and offended if they laughed but when he returned to the dressing room he was the one laughing the hardest. The others fell down in stitches. 

  What do players do when they get a brak on tour? 
-HAYDEN AND SYMONDS go fishing or surfing 
-SLATER AND BRETT LEE play the guitar 
-MARK WAUGH AND PONTING either go the races or go golfing 
-GILLESPIE goes to all the theme parks possible 
-STUART MCGILL will read a novel 

  What do the guys do before they go out to bat 
-ALL of them will discuss the worlds problems and supposedly be able to fix them 
-MARK WAUGH AND PONTING will bet on races 
-HAYDEN will sit by himself and prepare (mentally). He will look across the ground and grab a feel for it 
-SLATER will walk around in his bike pants and shoes. changing only a few minutes before he is meant to bat 

  Steve Waugh is the messiest person on tour. He has stuff everywhere and loses his wallet more than twice a day 

  Slater loves and idolises BON JOVI. All the boys went to his concert in England 

  Funky Miller is an insomniac and stays up all night watching tv getting only 3 hours sleep a night 

  Shane Warne is the actor of the team and is also caller Hollywood!

 In the dressing room of the Aussie team, You can hear the music of Australian Rock to Backstreet Boys and Bon Jovi!

  During a shield game, Michael Bevan got out, the whole team thought he would go crazy but later on they found him in the shower with all his batting gear still on. And one day Slats went out easily against England and later David Boon found all his pads and protective gear in the toilet. (thanks Kez)

Steve Waugh made 87 consecutive ODI appearances for Australia, and was then dropped, only to be replaced by his twin brother Mark Waugh. 

 Before wanting to be a wicket-keeper, Adam Gilchrist wanted to become a fast bowler!
He used to practice bowling fast in the back yard of his house ! Adam, fast bowler ?

 Adam Gilchrist, got his first pair of wicket-keeping gloves from his mother, for Christmas.
He saw the gloves on the show case of a store during his Christmas shopping and asked his mother to get him the gloves. That gift from his mom, has now made him the one of the best wicket keepers!
